Despite the fact you sang AVE MARIA very nice, I was quite taken aback by your choice of attire. This is a RELIGIOUS SONG, and although your gown may have been appropiate for a show in Vegas, it was quite INAPPROPIATE for this type of Music and event.

I am surprised that "your people" did not take this into account!!!

It is called showing a bit of decorum!!!

I must say that your dress was very inappropriate for a family Christmas show. I can't believe NBC allowed you to wear it and I'm dismayed that you would not use better judgement. C'mon, enough is enough.

Hello,

Beyonce, it is always terrific to see you. You a wonderful performer with a wonderful voice.

Call me old fashion, but I am not quite getting the hardly any attire you call clothes when you perform.

The dress you wore for the Rockefeller Christmas show was quite inappropriate for the show. Was it really necessary to show so much chest area for a family show? With children watching. Singing Ava Maria in an awards type figure hugging dress? Two opposites.

Sorry, I do not mean to be harsh, but please don't be like the other performers wearing almost nothing - you are too sophisticated for that.

Thank you for all your beautiful music and talent.

I tuned into the show tonight and was absolutely appalled at the choices made with regard to the Ave Maria song and wardrobe. I am not even a religious person for the most part, but was raised Catholic and have always respected the song Ave Maria for what it represents. I'm not sure if the appropriate context was given to what this song actually means before it was performed, but the choice to CHEAPEN it by combining it with a horrible set of lyrics, cheesy sex appeal and and seductive outfit was DISGUSTING. I am in my mid 30s and can honestly say that I have never "blogged" before tonight. I was so disappointed at this and what it represented that I'm just glad that others had a similar viewpoint when I logged on. I can't say I was ever a big fan of your music, but I have always respected the talent coming from the performing industry myself. Unfortunately I have to say that I am now going to go out of my way to share with people my disappointment about this event. This was an all time low for me.

To all you hating on her dress so what its non of your business she is a grown women she can were whatever she wants its not her job to live upto your relegious ideals. Do you honestly think Jesus or his mother give a flip what anybody wares when singing about them I think they would be looking at the spirit and the heart and there she sung that song with her soul it was beautiful but you didnt see it cause you let your predjudice and maybe your jealousy blind you. Life is more then image its about soul good luck on finding your own so you are not so rapped up in others stuff. With that being said I leave you with a quote that if everyone lived by would be a lot more inspiring planet "imagine no possessions I wonder if you can" by John Lennon go ahead girl sing your anthems to all dimensions heavens waiting to help you sing the light girl. take care

I was brought to tears with your performance of Ave Maria. It was beautiful. I recently lost the true love of my life after 18 years of marriage and so I really felt the song. He was my last and my first. Thank you for doing an amazing job. The whole performance looked beautiful.

I thought your dress was lovely!!!

there's nothing wrong with the dress or the gown she wore to that event...
it's ok..it's not too sexy or whatever you wanted to describe about it..
and honestly, the dress doesn't matter at all..because she did a great job..

I dragged myself from CT in the cold to come see you B. The cops would not let us get anywhere near the stage, they said that it was $500 per person to get through. I don't know if that was right, but it's all good. I DVR'd the show on NBC and I loved your performance as usual.

And Haters, if you were offended, you should have just turned the chanel. "Everything ain't for everybody".

Does anyone know her name? She looked like Keiko Matsui the awesome Smooth Jazz pianist...holler back if anyone knows for sure...AWESOME job Beyonce !!
Happy Holidays to all from the Lampman.

I logged onto this site to see if Beyonce had released any new videos and the comments about her dress got me curious to see what the fuss was all about. Since I had missed the show (working) the night it aired on NBC I got into youtube to see the performance. I loved it, as always, B can do no wrong. The dress was classy and elegant. I was impressed with the performance and I love the song. I was raised Catholic also and I see nothing wrong with the use of "Ave Maria". People pray to the the Holy Mother for guidance, inspiration and strength; and Beyonce's version and lyrical context signifies these qualities and the calmness and assurance that comes with knowing that one's prayers has been answered.
For those out there strongly offended by the song and the dress, here is a suggestion. Get into a time machine and transport yourselves to the puritanical era when women weren't allowed to be strong, to express their views or be in control of their destiny. Moreover, everyone dressed alike back then, so you'd all fit in perfectly. Better yet, you all would get a 360 degree view of yourselves; that way you shan't know what you're missing.
In response to the children and family comment, parents should be their own kids' role models. If you feel that an image on TV is inappropriate, turn it off. If you've instilled good values and morals in your children and practise what you preach, believe me, it will stay with them regardless of what the media displays.

I was one of the participant to that show and I am not impressed by her performance at all. I have been through so many of her shows and she can perform more that that, for sure.
