Beyoncé, as always, has hit another one out of the park with “4”. So many times people fail to listen to lyrics. Perhaps they listen on the surface, but they do not listen to the deeper, true meaning.
Although Beyoncé could sing the alphabet and give her fans chills, she is also an incredible lyricist and a consummate performer. Each word in her songs serves a purpose. If you really listen to or read her lyrics, you’ll discover that each song tells a story. Much like a great book, but with a lot less words.
Beyoncé’s songs that are meant to make women understand their worth, value, strength and potential (like Run The World (Girls), as well as her songs that express a pure, real love between soulmates (like 1+1), are often misunderstood and unfairly judged by non-fans.
I am not one to write on blogs, message boards, twitter, stalk celebrities etc., but I decided to write this after watching videos of Beyoncé on YouTube this weekend. I loved the music, but I was very bothered by comments posted by a few non-fans of Beyoncé. I just felt a need to write this letter and post it where it would not receive silly, immature and unkind feedback.
As an educated African-American woman from one of the poorest neighborhoods in Houston (5th Ward in the House), I have loved watching Beyoncé over the years prove that it is possible to uplift people and show children (especially disadvantaged children all over the world) that no dream is too big. You prove that it is not necessary to use others, use your body, or compromise your integrity to obtain that dream. It is so sad that so many people feel the need to try to tear others down in order to feel good.
They hide behind a computer and are willing to take jabs and make ugly hurtful remarks about someone who brings love and light into the world (in this case, Beyoncé) because consciously or unconsciously these people are not happy with something in their own lives.
You can dislike an artist’s music without saying and writing hateful things about that person. There are many artists that I don’t listen to because I don’t relate to their music, but I am happy for their success, applaud their brilliance and I realize that they touch many people with their music. What a lack of intelligence to bash a person that you have never met and probably never will. Just like television—if you don’t like a particular show, watch something else.
Thanks Beyoncé for representing Houston, women in general, African-Americans, and Christians in such a positive light. Keep doing what you do, because there is no one in the music industry like you. Girl, you tore it up on the Billboard Awards!
As I get off my soapbox, let me also remind people that as fans, we are not entitled to “be all up in your personal life”. As someone who has achieved success on a small scale in my field, I admire the way that you protect your private life.
Keep making wonderful music, and I will continue to buy it, listen to it, and watch your amazing performances. I hope you have the opportunity to read this, because it is real and from the heart.
Girl, I was not even mad at you when you won the heart of my first real “crush” (smiley face). Like you said in your acceptance speech at the BB Awards, “I love me some Jay” too; I used to get into so much trouble blasting his music in my car, at home, etc. Jay, I love that your music has continued to evolve and grow-- and I still listen to, buy and love your music.

Ok Beyoncé your whole album leaked and I Love you to DEATH, speaking from the heart and my soul, its horrible, its egregious, its abysmal, overall as one of your biggest fan, I refuse support this. And I really want my $11.99 back from my pre-order on iTunes. I completely do not understand the direction that you are going with. This album is extremely weak and I highly recommend that you delay your album because this is the "Best You Should Never Release" and reconsider the whole album. You stated and your record label that this album was suppose to be "revolutionary" however I find almost every song (except for Run the World Girls, The Best I Never Had) dated and amateur, not to the Beyonce' standards that your fans expect. This is a huge disappointment to me, as I write this I am tearing up, I attended EVERY TOUR you had, Bought THREE of each of your past album. All I can say is Beyonce' this NOT YOUR BEST!

I hate that the album leaked 3 weeks before time but I think that this album is genius. I Don't understand how some of these suppose to be STANS/FANS can't appreciate the artistry of this album it is so different from what is out. Bee definitely took a risk with this album. And the risk was worth it. You wanted maturity and she def gave you that on this album. Every album Bee give us a different side of her. And i love that about her. Thats what you call a true artist. You can hate it or love it but you can't deny her artistry.

This Album is Going to Dominate every Album coming out in 2011 not only because its Beyonce but for her newly inspired sound! Beyonce's singles that was released for this Album '4' is already on top of all my playlists, and i can't wait to buy the full Album when it is released on 28 June 2011, this Album is for the young and for the old! Bee's Run the World (Girls) track is already a big hit and can be heard at every party on any Device and in any Car passing you! and i still believe this Album is Goung to doing incredibly Good although it has been reported and confirmed that the Album leaked! I think Bee dont have to worry with her running the world of Entertainment and with her Massive fanbase there is no doubt that they would'nt go out and get the real deal which is Album '4'.

This album is turning the music and performance world upon it's head. When I first heard B-Day, I was lost, it was to forward for me to understand, but it is an album I now still play all the time. Beyonce is a TRUE ARTIST. RESPECT. Pay my bills, no-no-no-, survivor, independent women, put a ring on it, all sum up to her women run the world anthem, we could run the world if we could stop hating on each other as women. Beyonce is on the level of Michael Jackson as far as pop artist touching the world. BEY DAY ALL DAY , I hope she makes some records June 28th.
